As many of you know, I am a family and wedding photographer on the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay. This was a photo taken at a Point Clear, Alabama wedding a few years ago. Even before the wedding, the bride let me know she wanted me to paint the wedding scene in watercolor as a gift for her mother, so I made sure to get several shots from the pier over the course of the evening. This turned out to be my favorite for the painting, even though, I had to snap it in a hurry as everyone gathered along the pier to prepare for their send off by boat. I snapped this picture and then had to scoot back quickly to capture them making their way down the pier through sparklers and cheers to head off into the sunset under a sky full of fireworks! It was truly magical!
The second photo is a sketch I made first and the third photo shows the painting while still a work in progress. Even if I am not your wedding photographer or hired to paint your wedding as a live event painter, I can always work from photos after the fact! These paintings make such special gifts for parents of the bride or first anniversary (or later!) gifts!
